The Catapult OpenField Software allows detailed analysis including:
Biomechanical Analysis
• Analyse impact forces, turn rates, orientation
• Analyse impact forces (take out turn rates, orientations) – tackle identification and
measurement for heavy impact sports such as Rugby
• Orientation – break down movement into forward, backwards and sideways running
Tactical Analysis
• Synchronise video footage with GPS based animation of the game
• Replay 2D animations of the play in real time or after the game to communicate
tactical strategies to players and coaches
• Export GPS animations of play to video files for use in 3rd party software analysis
tools such as Sportscode
Post game Analysis
• Generate individualised reports breaking down performance into velocity, heart rate
& acceleration bands, recovery times, effort lengths & more
• Highlight distances between players and groups and use heat maps to assess player positioning on the field of play.
Sophisticated Wireless Real Time Analysis
• Count distance, sprint efforts, monitor HR and much more in real time
. Breakdown and edit your sessions on the go to assess the demands of your drills and routines live.
• Set individualised performance alarms for each player and be alerted in real time to performance issues
• 200m wireless transmission range
• 5 hour battery

“During the Serie A and Champions League season, AC Milan has used Catapult to analyse the performance of our athletes from a tactical analysis and fitness monitoring point of view. The data provided allows AC Milan a great insight into the exertion of each athlete and how they are performing physically. The Minimax S4 has become an integral part of the setup within the Milan Lab.”
Daniele Tognaccini-Director- AC Milan Lab
“When GPS technology first became available to the world of team sports, I must admit that I was sceptical. This is no longer the case! The data that is now available from GPS units, worn during training and training matches, and the ease in which it can be made available either live or post-training, has become an essential tool for evaluating and optimising individual player training loads. This is essential to not only maximise physical performance potential but also minimise the risk of injury.”
Paul Balsom-Performance Manager- Leicester City FC.
“The Catapult GPS system allows us to gather reliable objective measures from training in an efficient and easy to use format. This information helps us to quantify and plan our training sessions and allows us to monitor our players more effectively to drive performance improvement. Not only do Catapult continue to lead the way with their product development but their customer support is second to none.”
Kevin McShane – Head of Athletic Performance- Newcastle Falcons Rugby.
“It’s become such a key part in what we do at training, the equipment is just part of the kit that the players wear. They’ll put the shorts and t-shirt on, they’ll put the GPS and the heart rate monitor on, and then they’ll get the shin pads and the boots on. It’s just part of the kit. “We chose Catapult because for me, I’ve done a lot of research in to the different devices of GPS units and I’ve always been very very satisfied about the accuracy and reliability of the Catapult devices.”
Jamie Harley- Head of Sports Science- Newcastle United Football Club.
