Gymaware is a small, portable, and accurate linear encoder which attaches to free weights bars and weight stack machines for measuring Power output. It combines the mobility of an iPad hand-held device to record data with the power of the Internet. Gymaware data can be securely accessed online anywhere, any time.
The Gymaware system assesses performance in the gym. Results are then used as key indicators of the overall condition of an athlete.
• Motivate athletes with instant results
• Compare athletes and team results over time
• Benchmark with strength and power profiles
• Ensure recovery by measuring the return of power
• Recognise the onset of fatigue, overreaching and illness
• Assess and demonstrate the effectiveness of different training programmes
• Sets up in less than a minute
• Measures dozens of parameters including acceleration, power, velocity, displacement, force and work done
One of the unique features of Gymaware that other systems do not include is an angle sensor in the linear encoder. The purpose of this is to correct errors on lifts that contain a relatively small horizontal component such as Powercleans etc. If the angle component changes greatly within a set, the data is flagged as having a large change in angle which could indicate poor protocol and large errors in measurement.
The GymAware App is free to download from the iTunes store and allows users to:
• Collect and review results across generic lift types
• Basic export to CSV
• GymAware Lite can be used without internet connection
• The most basic mode providing realtime feedback as no results are saved
• This mode is the default (when not connected to the Cloud)
• Constantly in data collection mode
• Targets and ranges are able to be set
Contains a simulator mode which allows those without a GymAware PowerTool ability
to access all the features available to a GymAware Cloud user and experience the full
features of the GymAware App with 3 demo athletes.
The Gymaware Hardware includes:
• Gymaware Powertool sensor
• USB cable and charger
• Hard carry case
• Quick start user guide
The GymAware Cloud software is a subscription option which gives extended features and extensive web-based analysis. For sports professionals who want
instant analysis so they can make immediate decisions and allow you to work with squads of athletes and keep a record of your performance measures. Results and
settings are automatically shared between all iOS devices connected. You can view your results, set up squads and export data via your web-based account.
• Full version of the App
• Unlimited squads and athletes
• Access to GymAware.com (Historically GymAware Online/Pro)
• Conveniently monitor the performance of your athletes remotely
• Updated info is automatically shared across any devices connected to the Cloud
• Using GymAware.com provides a long-term perspective on your squads and athlete’s performance
GymAware Cloud is designed to allow syncing across multiple systems and stations.
This means that when using multiple GymAware systems all athlete/squad data
including results, presets and the important leaderboard results are automatically
and wirelessly synced across stations.
Use velocity to determine load, optimize and individualise your athletes strength training. remove the guesswork; set target zones based on training goals (Strength, Power or Speed). Use big screen TV’s to display team summaries on the Velocity and Target Zone boards.
Power is the key factor for producing game winning performances. Measure your athletes efforts in the weights room, benchmark and track performance with inbuilt protocols. Power drives the fastest sprints and breaks the hardest tackles; by training for Power you are training to win.
Monitor limb asymmetries and differences due to injury or imbalance. Compare pre and post results over time. Be assured the athlete is ready to return to competition.
Power output during a jump is a key indicator of athletic ability. Evaluate Jump Height, Squat Depth, Power and Velocity. Easily monitor fatigue with long term tracking reports.
“The Gymaware system is a terrific innovation which provides immediate and accurate feedback on the power performance of our players. Its durability, the detail of the information provided and the ease of its use make it superior to similar products I have come across previously. It has become an invaluable training tool for us in the preparation of our players.”
Daniel Tobin- Head of Fitness, Leinster Rugby.
“In the highly competitive world of elite sport, the Gymaware Power Testing System is a vital tool for giving sports professionals within the EIS network the information we need. The interface to iPhone and iPad makes it simple, quick and highly portable- EIS have found it perfect for quick tests and travelling teams.”
Director of Performance Solutions, English Institute of Sport.
“We have found the full fit-out of a weight room with GymAware the key for providing athletes with an accurate performance monitoring tool. Our set up includes 10 lifting platforms, 10 GymAware Power Tools, 2 Large Screen TVs and 10 iPads. This set up maximises the Leaderboard feature. We have been using GymAware for the last 6 months and the precise, consistent and accurate data that comes from each of the 10 platforms is faultless.
The comparable data, reliability and accuracy of GymAware means that the athlete analysis is faultless. It has given the players a fresh focus to their weight sessions. They enjoy the live feedback from the TV monitors and the ability to pinpoint their strengths and weaknesses through the live data feedback.
I would highly recommend the GymAware power tool to anyone that is interested in measuring performance in the weights room. It provides a motivational and competitive environment.”
Kevin Geary- Strength & Conditioning Coach- Ulster Rugby.
“The lack of objective feedback meant all lifting is based on what you see as a coach and what you feel as an athlete which are both massively important. I constantly use objective information from GymAware to track performance, training stimulus and to create competition. GymAware is easy to use, reliable, and effective.”
Nick Gill- Head Strength & Conditioning Coach- All Blacks Rugby.
