1080 Motion embody a revolutionary advance in training for speed, power, strength, and agility: their high performance solutions utilise a computer-controlled, motorised cable system that allows coaches to apply and control resistance across a broad range of functional movements.

  • BRAND HISTORY

1080’s early work began in 2005 when coach Rolf Öhman and entrepreneur Ole Olsen began developing a novel idea. The goal was to create a device built on robotics technology that would outperform existing training equipment. Their research and collaboration with early customers motivated them to meet the increasing demand for objective measurements and easy-to-use methods for testing. In 2013 they joined forces with movement specialists Athletic 1080 and the development of 1080 MAP. Building on the 1080 Quantum technology the 1080 Sprint was launched in 2014.

1080 products are manufactured in Sweden using state of the art production methods. The chassis is made of high quality steel and aluminium and are tested to meet their high quality standards.

  • PRODUCT RANGE

1080 Sprint is a portable resistance training and testing device for sprinting, swimming and change of direction movements. It uses intelligent variable resistance technology to provide a very smooth and controllable resistance. It measures power, force, speed and acceleration with high accuracy and is able to provide a variable resistance over the course of a sprint.

1080 Quantum is a sophisticated system for performance training, testing, rehabilitation and research. The power lies in the patented technology where resistance level, mode and speed are provided by an electric motor. This creates a unique ability to safely and independently control resistance and speed in the concentric and eccentric phase while measuring force and power throughout the movement.

  • “We find that the results we are able to get from the 1080 Quantum systems provide us with a unique window into understanding each of the athlete’s individual biomechanics strength and weaknesses. We can then use these systems to be able to train these weaknesses out and to improve on the strength that they already have. It provides a really unique and adaptable way to improve performance.”

    – John Bowskill, Director, The Bowskill Clinic, London

  • “As a young coach, I am always looking for every edge, and when I did my research on this product and got feedback from some of the coaches I respect in this business, I had to have it. My sprinters are addicted to the way it feels to achieve the speeds the 1080 Sprint allows them to.”

    – Ato Boldon, Athletics Coach

  • “The 1080 Sprint is letting us push our bodies beyond what we would normally be able to do. We have women running over 11 meters per second and men running beyond world record phase. It’s doing things that we need to do to get their bodies used to running at the phase of world finalists and medalists.”
