ENGLAND CRICKET INVEST IN OPTOJUMP TECHNOLOGY TO MONITOR FAST BOWLERS
The England Cricket Board have invested in 10 metres of the Optojump optical measurement system to help monitor loads on their elite fast bowlers.

The Optojump system will be based at the National Cricket Performance Centre in Loughborough and will be used in conjunction with other technologies including the Catapult GPS/Accelerometry system and the Vicon video analysis system to investigate the full profile of the run up and delivery.

The Catapult Data Scientists have been working closely with the ECB analysis team to develop a bowling algorithm to look at run up velocities and predicted bowling speeds. The Optojump system will give the analysis team live feedback on stride length, contact times and gait during the bowlers run up.

Other National Governing Bodies already using Optojump technology include: UK Athletics, English Institute of Sport, Welsh Rugby, Scottish Rugby plus a number of Premier League Football teams including: Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal.
