GymAware

GymAware was designed and built by engineers with over 20 years experience in developing sports technology for elite sport. It has been designed from the ground up as a tool for measuring performance in the gym.

GymAware is a small, portable, and accurate linear encoder which attaches to free weights bars and weight stack machines for measuring Power output. It combines the mobility of an iPad hand-held device to record data with the power of the Internet. GymAware data can be securely accessed online anywhere, any time.

GymAware has been extensively and independently validated. Key accuracy features are:

The GymAware system assesses performance in the gym. Results are then used as key indicators of the overall condition of an athlete.

One of the unique features of GymAware that other systems do not include is an angle sensor in the linear encoder. The purpose of this is to correct errors on lifts that contain a relatively small horizontal component such as Powercleans, etc. If the angle component changes greatly within a set, the data is flagged as having a large change in angle which could indicate poor protocol and large errors in measurement.

GymAware Lite
The GymAware App is free to download from the iTunes store and allows users to:
• Collect and review results across generic lift types
• Basic export to CSV
• GymAware Lite can be used without internet connection
• The most basic mode providing realtime feedback as no results are saved
• This mode is the default (when not connected to the Cloud)
• Constantly in data collection mode
• Targets and ranges are able to be set
Contains a simulator mode which allows those without a GymAware Powertool ability
to access all the features available to a GymAware Cloud user and experience the full
features of the GymAware App with 3 demo athletes.

Velocity Based Training
