As part of an ongoing initiative to improve the health and wellbeing offering to all staff within the force, the team at Leicestershire Police were converting an existing office and storage space to a staff gym.
Space restrictions in the previous gym had limited the range of activities and equipment that could be utilised. A key focus for the project was to address this limitation and offer a wide variety of training possibilities whilst still allowing users of all abilities and experience levels to enjoy unsupervised use of the gym.

Solution
The focal point of the gym is the completely custom, co-designed rig. This piece needed to provide the option to barbell lift, whilst incorporating elements of bodyweight play, climbing, boxing, circuit training and gymnastics.
A range of pin-loaded Perform Better strength equipment allows a wide variety of movements to be performed with a minimal footprint into the gym space and no requirement for additional weight plates to load them.
A full suite of cardio equipment options was installed, including Concept 2 Ski Erg, Bike and Rower. As well as Keiser M5i Strider, Assault Bike and a non-motorized, curved treadmill.
Finally, Perform Better installed branded adjustable benches and stainless-steel dumbbell set, complete with rotating vertical storage to maximize remaining floor space.
