Park View Academy of Sport was established as a new campus for Park View School in 2017. The campus, which is based at the Riverside Chester-Le-Street, provides world-class sporting facilities which house aspiring sportsmen and women. The Academy currently offer Development Centres in the following sports: Men's Football, Women's Football, Rugby, Cricket, Netball and Rowing. The Park View Football Academy are formally part of the Huddersfield Town Academy structure. This partnership provides pathways for 16 to 19-year-old footballers to represent Huddersfield Town in National League structures. The Football Academy provides students with the platform to develop their technical, tactical, physical, and psychological aspects of their game, allowing players to develop their game intelligence.
In early 2022 Park View took the decision to convert an under used sports hall into a full Strength and Conditioning facility for their Academy athletes. Due to Perform Better’s expertise in designing and equipping school S and C facilities and our links with Park View’s partner club- Huddersfield Town FC- we were selected to design and equip the new facility. The 23m x 12m area was floored with 30mm Performance flooring with a 15m turf track down the middle of the room. Four Standard Half Racks and three Full Racks were installed along with a range of selectorised machines complemented by K Box Flywheel system, Vertimax raptor, Concept 2 Rowers, Ski Ergs and Bikes. In addition, a range of Sport Science equipment was supplied to test and monitor the progress of the Academy athletes including- Pasco Force Plates, Blazepod Reaction system and Flex Power Monitoring system.
