Southampton FC’s Staplewood Campus Training Ground was built back in 2015- Perform Better were selected to fully equip the Strength and Conditioning facility. Over the past three years the Club have realised that the facility is too small to cater for the size of squad. In conjunction with the Club’s Performance team led by Alek Gross a new building was designed that would give the Club four times as much space as the original facility and was positioned adjacent to the existing facility. Perform Better’s design team were brought in at an early stage to help plan some of the bespoke features that the Club wanted to include in the facility- Force Plates built into the floor in one of the Racks, a large medicine ball throwing wall and wall mounting kPulleys and VertiMax Raptor units.

The building work on the new facility started in early 2022 due to issues with the main building contractor the completion of the facility was delayed until June 2023. The Strength and Conditioning space is 30m x 15m with Duratrain Performance Flooring throughout with a two lane Mondo Sprint Track running down the centre of the room. Four Graphix branded lifting platforms were positioned in the Olympic lifting area with three Elite Half Racks and one Elite Power Rack. Club branded Olympic discs were supplied for the Olympic lifting and the disc loading machines. Bespoke Monster storage bays were designed to house all the functional training equipment. Selectorised Lat Pulldown/Seated Row and disc loading Recumbent Leg Press were also installed along with additional kBoxes and kPulleys to add to the Club’s existing units that were moved from their old facility.
