Imogen Green Joins PB Ambassador Program

Imogen Green Joins PB Ambassador Program

We are delighted to introduce Imogen Green as one of our new Athlete Ambassadors. Here's a small introduction...

What is your sporting/athletic background?

From a very early age I was around sport, I remember sitting on the sideline of a netball court on a Sunday morning with a bag of sweets all wrapped up watching my mum play knowing one day I wanted to play with her. This was the start of my sports journey, from school teams to playing for club and county, you name it I probably played it (apart from football, I’m not great with ball control and my feet).

Athletics, hockey and netball were my main focus through my teenage years and I was fortunate to be able to play all of them to a high level, British colleges hockey, West Midlands netball (plus playing with my mums team) and I competed nationally in heptathlon (athletics) winning English schools and an invitational international for the home countries. I was also a part of the power to podium initiative and found myself playing rugby 7s for England development team for a while.

Whilst I have had to stop my team and individual sports due to numerous knee surgeries over the last 6 years I still make sure I hit the gym atleast 3 times a week and have found other avenues of activity such as swimming and biking which keep me motivated and fit for when I can get back to playing team sports.

What is your current favourite piece of kit?

I had to think about the desert island game for this one ( what would I take with me if I had three pieces of equipment ) it would have to be cables, they allow you to work such a variety of muscle groups, there is a reason why they are always hard to get on in the gym, everyone wants to use them!

What is your favourite thing to train and why?

Tough question, with my background of so many different sports I have never had to prioritise a certain muscle group to train however my personal trainer knows me really well and he tends to put in a spicy all over body circuit with with some treadmill sprints, bike sprints and rowing thrown in between kettlebell and body weight exercises. No way I’m not sweating by the end of one of these!
