The Matt Hampson Foundation provides advice, support, relief and/or treatment for anyone suffering serious injury or disability which has arisen from any cause, but in particular from participation in or training for any sport, sporting activity or other form of physical education or recreation.
Along with Perform Better UK the Foundation has arranged for sporting and exercise equipment to be sent to six beneficiaries, who would ordinarily use the Foundation’s Get Busy Living! Centre in Leicestershire on a daily basis. Equipment delivered to the homes of these beneficiaries include Ski Ergs, dumbbells and medicine balls across Warwickshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire.
The Matt Hampson Foundation Chief Executive Officer, Tommy Cawston, said: “It’s so important for us to be able to continue to support our beneficiaries during this difficult time. With the help of Perform Better we have been able to safely get gym equipment to a number of our beneficiaries allowing them to train at home which will be so crucial to both their physical and mental wellbeing over the coming weeks of isolation.”
Beneficiary Adam Clarke spoke of the equipment: “Staying active is really important in helping me manage my disability and I was really concerned social distancing would make it impossible for to keep moving. This kit from Perform Better will make an enormous difference and help me stay healthy at home during the pandemic.”
Perform Better Director of Sales and Marketing, Gary Oleinik, added: “It is a privilege for Perform Better UK to work so closely with the Hambo team. The beneficiaries are such an inspiration and getting this equipment to them at such a vital time is the very least we can do in supporting them in having a healthy and active lifestyle during self-isolation.”
Perform Better UK are the official supplier to The Matt Hampson Foundation, after kitting out the gym at the Get Busy Living! Centre in 2018, since then Team PB have continued fund raising for the charity, including having a donation button on their website and completing a charity skydive.
The highest safety measures possible are being taken during the delivery of the items to protect not only The Matt Hampson Foundation beneficiaries but also the Perform Better UK delivery staff.
