HRV in Elite Youth Rugby

A recent study by R C Edmonds, W H Sinclair and A S Leicht looks at the effect weekly training, and one competitive game, has on the heart rate of elite youth rugby league players.

Players aged between 17 and 20 years were monitored during 10 minutes of lying down and 8 minutes of standing, 5 times over a period of 8 days. Heart rate recordings were examined, with the thesis analysing time domain, frequency and non-linear measures of HRV.
